It doesn’t have to be like this

A time to talk

Hallam Mediation has been in practice in Sheffield since 2000 and in Doncaster since 2003. During that period we have helped many couples to resolve family disputes without going to court. We have helped sort out arrangements for children and division of property by focusing on practical solutions.

An impartial mediator meets both parties in dispute separately at first and then together. Mediation allows couples to retain control of any decisions which are made. It is much less stressful than making an application to court and letting a judge decide what is fair.

In mediation there are no winners or losers. The aim is to work towards an outcome which both parties regard as reasonable.

Mediation is gaining increased recognition as an important tool in helping to reduce the emotional damage which separation can inflict on the whole family.

We can help you work it out

A time to listen

Mediation can help to improve communication between you and your partner so you are able to work out fair solutions to family problems. By meeting face to face, you will be much more likely to avoid misunderstandings and build firm foundations for the future.

Mediation is voluntary and is a choice which you are free to make or not. It enables you to retain control of family decisions.

Hallam Mediation provides a high quality mediation service. We are contracted to the Legal Services Commission to provide mediation to clients who are eligible for public funding. We also have many privately-funded clients who benefit from the lower costs of mediation compared with the expense which could be incurred in an acrimonious separation.
